IPC TV mags partner with Sky Songs

IPC Connect’s portfolio of TV magazines has teamed up with Sky Songs, Sky’s new online music service, to offer free downloads to readers.

TV & Satellite Week, TVTimes, What’s on TV, TV easy and Soaplife will all run the promotion for one issue each in consecutive weeks during February and the first week of March.

Readers of each magazine can download 10 free songs from Sky Songs’ library of more than five million songs.

Mary de Cinque, senior marketing manager for the Connect TV magazines portfolio, says: “Our readers both trust and have a long association with the Sky brand.  Through this partnership, we’ll be making them aware of the Sky Songs service as well as providing added value to their weekly read through the free music downloads.”

Justin Moodie, General Manager, Sky Songs adds: “We are pleased to be offering a taste of Sky Songs to IPC’s TV magazine readers. Sky has a long history of involvement with these TV related titles, ensuring a great fit in helping to spread the word about our recent move into music.”

The Sky Songs promotion will be highlighted on the covers of Connect’s TV magazines, as well as online.

Sky Songs launched in October last year as the broadcaster attempted to take on Apple’s iTunes and Spotify.
