Iris has scooped the £10m European advertising account for car rental brand Hertz. The agency won the above- and below-the-line business after pitching against Naked, the Engine Group and Smart Fusion.
The pitch process was managed by intermediary ICG Commerce and Hertz head of marketing programmes David Oliver. Iris has been briefed to create a range of brand marketing communications, including on and offline campaigns and CRM.
In February Herz announced the launch of its online car rental company Simply Wheelz in Europe. The discount hire company offers consumers rates of around £8 a day and provides free emergency roadside assistance. Herz Europe’s president, Michel Taride says the company launched the new arm as part of an ongoing growth strategy.
The American-owned company is one of Europe’s largest car rental companies and counts Europcar, Enterprise, Avis and Sixt as competitors.
