Heineken’s proposed sale of two factories and six brands to Damm, the regional Spanish brewer, has been approved by the Spanish government. Heineken must sell some of its brands as a pre-condition to it merging its Cruzcampo and El Aguila divisions. The Skol, Keler, Estrella del Sur, Victoria, Calatrava and Oro brands are affected.

Publicis Group SA has announced an increase of 78.3 per cent in its billings for the first quarter of this year. They reached E3.576bn (&£2.2bn) compared with E2bn (&£1.2bn) for the same quarter in 2000. Excluding acquisitions, billings rose 8.2 per cent.
