Inditex, owner of the Zara fashion chain, is to launch a retail format specialising in lingerie, named Oysho. Up to 30 openings are planned in Spain. Oysho’s principal rival will be Women’s Secret, a division of Cortefiel.

Online advertising increased 203 per cent during 2000, according to new figures from the Internet Advertising Bureau and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Based on reported revenues from online media owners and advertising agencies, the IAB’s figures put the total value of online UK advertising last year at £154.7m, compared with £51m in 1999 and £19.4m in 1998.
