It’s expedition time in marketing land

Marketing women seem to be flocking to remote and hard-to-reach places – Mount Everest and the North Pole.

Hannah Chalkley, marketing co-ordinator at The London Clinic, is not only climbing Everest but is taking part in the Caudwell Xtreme Everest medical research project, organised by UCL’s The Centre for Altitude, Space and Extreme Environment Medicine, to investigate critical illness and human physiology.

Also, the Arctic Virgins, an all-female team, has just embarked on this year’s Polar Challenge. Kirsty Bamber, Laura Jones and Alex Zawadski, set off from Canada’s Resolute Bay heading for the North Pole.

The Arctic Virgins have been sponsored by search marketing company Latitude, and the company also helped fund the training and equipment which will prove essential to the team’s chances of beating the other seven teams to the pole.
