ITV shows available on Bebo

ITV is poised to make its shows available through social networking site Bebo. The broadcaster is understood to be joining Bebo’s Open Media to generate interest in programming on its youth-oriented ITV2 digital channel.

Content channels will promote individual TV shows, initially from ITV2 but may be expanded to offer programmes from its flagship ITV1 channel.

Bebo users can become fans of the shows in order to be notified when new content goes online. Each ITV channel will feature content including blogs, galleries, clips, fan forums and polls. Users will also be able to embed the ITV1 video player into their profile.

The first ITV show to be made available will be Gossip Girl. This will be followed by ITV2 comedies including Keith Lemon, which features the Bo Selecta star Lee Francis.

ITV relaunched its own portal last summer and last week said it wanted to deliver £150m of annual internet revenues by 2010.
