Iveco names managing director

Iveco, the truck division of Fiat Group, has appointed Henk van Leuven, head of its Benelux and Scandinavian business, as managing director of the group. He takes over the role this month.

In his new role, Van Leuven will be responsible for the UK as well as Benelux and Scandinavia. He arrives a month ahead of the UK launch of the new flagship Stralis heavy truck range. He has been in his current role for three years and has already launched the Stralis in other markets.

Van Leuven has held several roles across the automotive industry including with Bova, the bus and motorhome manufacturer, DAF and Iveco Netherlands. He joined Iveco SpA in 2001 as commercial director of heavy truck business in Turin. He also developed Iveco’s dealer network in Russia before joining Irisbus as commercial director of European operations in 2003.

In September last year, Iveco appointed Andrea Bucci as UK marketing director. He joined from its Australian operation (MW September 28 2006).
