John Brown to publish John Lewis customer title

John Lewis has re-appointed John Brown to handle its customer magazine, which is due to re-launch this autumn.

The incumbent won a three way pitch against Haymarket and Seven Squared to create a new John Lewis branded magazine to replace current title Source.

Work on the new magazine begins at the same time agency Adam & Eve starts devising a new advertising campaign for the retailer. The agency took over the £20m account from Lowe London earlier this month.

Source currently reaches 500,000 customers, according to Miranda Goodenough, Head of Direct Marketing for John Lewis. She says the retailer believes the magazine will become a “more powerful asset if it became a John Lewis customer magazine.”

She adds the new title is set to appear in September or October and is designed to “build the John Lewis brand and meet our customers’ needs whilst also supporting the Greenbee business and its growth plans.”
