Former GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) marketer Julie Leivers will join Silentnight Group as group marketing director on September 1.
Leivers, who will join the board as an executive director, takes over from interim marketing director Matthew Jenkins.
She will be responsible for developing a strategic direction for the group’s brands, which include Silentnight beds and upholstery company Parker Knoll.
A Silentnight spokesman says the appointment will not affect individual brand teams or agency arrangements. Silentnight Beds’ &£1.5m ad business for is handled by Mortimer Whittaker O’Sullivan. Parker Knoll is seeking an agency.
Leivers joins Silentnight just over three months after quitting as vice-president of marketing and innovation for GSK drinks brands Lucozade, Ribena and Horlicks (MW April 29).
