JWT names Vick and Petyan as joint directors

JWT has promoted Tom Vick, the group business director for Nestl窠and Joe Petyan, the global account director for HSBC, to joint managing directors of the agency.

JWT has promoted Tom Vick (pictured), the group business director for Nestlé, and Joe Petyan, the global account director for HSBC, to joint managing directors of the agency.

It follows the return of Alison Burns, former chief executive of the agency, to the US at the beginning of the year.

Vick and Petyan, who take over the newly created roles with immediate effect, will be responsible for leading the agency and will report to Toby Hoare, chairman and chief executive of JWT Europe, until UK chief executive is found.

Hoare says Vick and Petyan are “thoroughly decent people who will motivate and enthuse”.

Vick joined the agency last year to lead the Nestlé business but also heads the Vodafone and De Beers accounts. He was previously managing director of DFGW.

Meanwhile, Petyan has been with JWT since 1997, when he joined as a graduate trainee. He is co-head of account management as well as heading the HSBC business.

Burns, who led the agency for nearly three years, has returned to the US as global client services director at JWT New York.
