Kettle Chips launches healthy lentil variant

Kettle Chips, the premium crisp brand, is boosting its health credentials with the launch of a new lentil and potato-based snacks. Kettle Lentil and Potato Curls are currently being trialled in Sainsbury’s.

The snacks are made from lentil flour and have 90 calories a bag and are also low in fat and salt. There are two flavours – Curiously Cheeky Cheese, which is four cheese and red onion, and Tongue Twisting Tang, which is salt and vinegar. It is currently only available in multi-packs bags and costs £1.39.

Earlier this year, the company launched Kettle Crispy Bakes, which are also made from lentil flour and are low in calories, fat and salt. It is not clear how long the range will be trialled before going into wider distribution or what marketing support the company is planning to put behind it.
