‘Kill Posh’ film finds sponsor

Controversy-seeking viral film and ad production house Asa Bailey has found a sponsor for its viral film, Kill Posh, in which Victoria Beckham appears to be killed after being hit by a car (MW February 24).

The rights to the viral were put up for sale on auction site Ebay, and have been bought by US online gambling website GoldenPalace.com, which has bought a number of other odd items on Ebay recently. It paid $28,000 (&£15,000) for a cheese sandwich featuring a likeness of the Virgin Mary and $10,600 (&£5,900) for a pretzel shaped like the Virgin Mary holding the infant Jesus.

In the Posh viral, a Victoria Beckham lookalike shoplifts clothes, is chased out of the store and hit by a car.

Last year, Asa Bailey registered the OgilvyMather.co.uk domain name, which had just expired, and put up a picture of a corpse carrying the words: “If you understood the modern brand, you would know how to protect it.”

It also created a film in response to the Red Nose Day viral challenge. The film featured comedian Paul Kaye headbutting dancers. The viral, which missed the challenge deadline, was released as The Unofficial Red Nose Day Viral, but Comic Relief demanded that any Red Nose Day branding be removed.
