LBi aims to boost search capabilities with Netrank acquisition

Digital agency LBi has acquired search optimisation company Netrank in a move that aims to boost its search capabilities. It is understood that the agency beat WPP Group and a second undisclosed bidder to buy the agency.

Netrank, which will be rebranded as LBi over time, will retain its headquarters in Exeter and a sales and client services team in London.

Lucy Allen, Netrank managing director, says that the company’s international division was looking forward to access to LBi’s pan-European clients. She says: “They [LBi] are a good fit for us. We know a lot about client acquisition but through this takeover we will see the total journey.”

Netrank works with clients to improve their websites and achieve better search engine result. Its clients include Coutts bank, Disney resorts, Dyson and HSBC.
