Leagas Delaney London has scooped the £3m integrated brief to launch film content website FilmOn.
The brand will launch first in the UK, followed by Germany and America. The website houses an extensive range of film content, from feature films to documentaries and short-form content.
It says the content available was previously only available to people who knew where to look for it, but with FilmOn, it can be catalogued in one online place.
The site will also link to FilmOn3D, the brand’s virtual “Beverley Hills” social network, where consumers can create avatars to connect with fellow film lovers. The site will allow avatars to watch live events, such as concerts, at the FilmOn arena.
Users can access content by either streaming it online or by downloading and burning it on DVDs.
Leagas Delaney has been briefed to devise a raft of creative work, including a high profile TV ad campaign, press and poster executions, together with online advertising, such as banner ads, launching in the autumn.
FilmOn has been created by actor and film-maker Alki David, also the company chairman. He says he developed the concept to offer niche and “sought after” content to viewers other than film buffs.
David co-launched Full On Entertainment, a company which holds film and TV production companies in Los Angeles and London, a record label, modelling agency and internet content development.
Last week Leagas Delaney won the £5m relaunch activity for Australian brand Driza-Bone (MW last week).
