Marketing Week has teamed up with global leadership expert and columnist Thomas Barta to launch the Marketing Leadership Masterclass, a new CPD-accredited online course designed to equip marketers with everything they need to become a better leader.
Barta is one of the world’s foremost thinkers, speakers and writers on the subject of marketing leadership. A former McKinsey partner, he also co-authored the book ‘The 12 Powers of a Marketing Leader’ with Patrick Barwise, and has consulted for some of the world’s most prominent brands.
Throughout the 16-week course, he will share his vast expertise of working with global CMOs and key insights on marketing leadership. He promises to provide marketers with all the key skills they need to bridge the gap between execution and leadership, build influence, make an impact and shape the C-suite agenda.
“Doing marketing isn’t the same as leading marketing,” says Barta. “Marketers don’t succeed because they know marketing; marketers succeed because they know how to lead.“
Kicking off on 2 April, the course will cover four key areas – leading your boss, leading your colleagues, leading your team and leading yourself – across 26 chapters.
Those who take part will also get the opportunity to build their own personal impact and leadership plan, which is designed to help turn insights into action.
