London 2012 gains double sponsorship boost

The London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games has signed two new deals with commercial sponsors. Adecco, recruitment services company, has become the latest tier two supporter and Boston Consulting Group joins as the first tier three sponsor.

Adecco will become the official recruitment services supplier to the Games, as a tier two sponsor, the level has an entry point of £20m. The company joins Cadbury and Deloitte on tier two. Adecco will be responsible for the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games’ permanent and temporary recruitment between now and 2012, later supporting staff in the next stage of their careers following the conclusion of the Games.

The employment specialist has previously been a domestic commercial partner for Sydney 2000, Torino 2006 and the Manchester Commonwealth Games in 2002.

Locog has also made a deal with Boston Consulting Group to advise them on ticketing and merchandising. BCG specialises in corporate finance, marketing and sales and strategy and becomes the first tier-three sponsor, which costs the company at least £10m.

The news comes two days after London 2012 tier one partner, Nortel, filed for bankruptcy protection. The Toronto-based company says its commitment as sponsor and official network infrastructure provider remains unchanged.
