Magic 105.4 appoints new head of marketing

Bauer Radio has promoted Sarah Hyatt-Williams to head of marketing for Magic 105.4. She replaces Nicola Thomson, who is joining Global Radio, as the station’s top marketer.

Hyatt-Williams joined Magic in June 2006 as marketing manager, having previously been an account manager at the now defunct HHCL & Partners. Magic was bought by Bauer as part of the £1.14bn purchase of EMAP’s consumer magazine and radio divisions.

Bauer Radio marketing director Steve Parkinson says: “Sarah knows the Magic brand inside out and is ready to lead the marketing effort to support Magic’s dominant position in London.”

Thomson, who was marketing director at Magic, will be responsible for its rival Heart when she joins Global Radio in the spring.

Bauer has also announced that Tina Finch has been appointed to the new role of head of marketing for national radio brands. Finch was marketing director of Heart for five years and was also part of the InStyle magazine launch team.

Meanwhile, James Pisano, a former marketing assistant at Heart, is joining Kiss in the same role, while former Kiss marketing director Nick Button, who was most recently marketing director at Capital 95.8, rejoins Kiss in a consultancy role.
