Mail Online only newspaper site to increase daily browsers in July

Mail Online has again increased its average daily unique browsers and held its place as the most popular newspaper online, according to ABCE figures for July.

The DMGT-owned title was the only newspaper site to see an increase in average daily unique browsers from June, rising 0.4% to 2.5m during July.

The Guardian ranked second with 1.93m average daily unique browsers, a 5% drop from the previous month.

The Telegraph’s average daily unique browsers also dropped, 8.5% to 1.6m.

Mirror Group Digital, incorporating Mirror Football and 3am, reported 0.51m average daily unique browsers, also down by 2.6% on June.

The Independent, which yesterday appointed former News International digital strategist Zach Leonard as MD digital for and The London Evening Standard, dropped 4% to 0.47m average daily unique browsers.

Despite the general drop in average daily unique browsers from last month, all newspaper sites have increased their figures compared to July 2009.
