The agency beat ZenithOptimedia and Mediaedge: CIA to win the business, following a pitch that was run by COI Communications.

The Home Office wants to recruit 24,000 new civilian officers across the country.

M&C Saatchi, which created the memorable “Could You?” campaign for the Metropolitan Police recruitment campaign, will handle the advertising for the PCSO campaign.

Manning Gottlieb currently works on several other campaigns for the Home Office, including child protection on the internet and rape.

Last month, the Metropolitan Police launched a new campaign to promote the benefits of its “Safer Neighbourhood” local policing initiative (MW February 2).

Those ads, created by Miles Calcraft Briginshaw Duffy, highlight the difference that local policing teams, which are made up of up to six police community support officers, make to an area.

Manning Gottlieb was reappointed to the COI’s &£148m communications planning roster last month (MW February 16). Seven new agencies were added to the roster, and six others were reappointed along with Manning Gottlieb.

Among the agencies added were BLM Media, Carat, MediaCom, MindShare and Universal McCann. Mediaedge/CIA, Starcom, PHD and ZenithOptimedia were some of those retained.
