Marketer medals with Olympic tally

Sports fans will have watched with interest as Steve Redgrave, four times Olympic gold medallist, agonised over whether to continue rowing. But many will be unaware that a similar dilemma now faces Jackie Marlow, marketing services manager for ISBA.

Marlow, 27, is captain of the Great Britain Ladies Canoe Polo team – which won the world championships last year – and could go on to greater glory as canoe polo is to become an Olympic sport at the 2000 Sydney games.

“I haven’t got a clue what I will do,” she says. ISBA sources say director general John Hooper would love her to carry on – and help improve on Britain’s rather sorry medal tally from the Atlanta games.
