The Marketing Academy has opened applications for its 2023 EMEA Fellowship programme, a course designed to equip CMOs with the skills they need to take on a CEO or board-level position.

Developed in partnership with McKinsey & Company and sponsored by The CMO Club, the exclusive programme will award places to a maximum of 25 CMOs and marketing leaders this year.

Kicking off in January, the curriculum will be delivered over three residential events and has previously required a time commitment of approximately 12 days. Masterclasses are provided by McKinsey experts, alongside a CMO to CEO leadership journey led by leadership expert Thomas Barta, one-to-one sessions with professional executive coaches from Wisdom 8, media training by Freuds, and mentoring sessions with high profile directors.

The annual programme claims more than 200 global alumni, including Diageo’s global CMO Cristina Diezhandino, Sainsbury’s and Argos’s CMO Mark Given, Lenovo CMO Emily Ketchen, and Eurobank Group’s deputy CEO Antreas Athanassopoulos.Marketing Academy reveals CMOs chosen to become its 2022 Fellows

2021 Fellow Gareth Helm, who is global CMO at HomeServe, calls it a “unique and powerful experience”, adding: “We all came away with new tools and ideas, but most importantly a new perspective and clarity around our future goals.”

Applications can be made via the Marketing Academy website until 4 November.
