The non-profit learning and mentoring organisation, of which Marketing Week is a founder partner, is now looking for talented young executives for its seventh year of intake.

The 30 chosen Scholars benefit from one-to-one mentoring from CEOs, CMOs and entrepreneurs who will impart their experience and insight. They will also attend boot camps held by the leading brands and agencies and work with an executive coach for a year.

Sherilyn Shackell, founder of The Marketing Academy, says: “I’m so looking forward to seeing the nominations for this, our seventh Scholarship Programme! The calibre of people applying for the Scholarship has never dipped and it gets harder every year to select just 30.

“I trust that all the leaders in marketing, media and advertising will continue to support and recognise their talented superstars by nominating them for this unique and powerful opportunity.”

Potential scholars need to be nominated so business leaders from the advertising, marketing and communication industries are asked to identify the top talent in their organisations. The closing date for nominations is 19 February.

Nominees will be judged according to criteria that includes a minimum of four and a maxiumu of 12 years’ experience in marketing. However, there are also a few places available to those who have not taken a traditional route but who demonstrate “remarkable potential” as marketers or entrepreneurs.

Following the nominations, individuals are invited to apply to the Scholarship. They will have to take part in an intense three-stage selection process before being offered a place on the year-long programme.

Victoria Hatcher, a senior account manager at ZPB Associates and a current Scholar says: “Where else in the world do you get to meet such inspiring and insightful leaders of industry? These people won’t just tell you about how they’ve reached the top of their game, they will help guide you to follow in their footsteps.

“Be prepared for self-reflection, challenge and learning – but most of all be prepared for a roller coaster ride of emotion and creating friendships for life.”
