Marketing ideas site pulls in top spenders

Getmemedia.com, the online marketing ideas directory, is understood to have signed the UK’s biggest advertiser, COI Communications. The news comes as retailer Boots also joins the service.

It is understood both joined the service earlier this month, bringing the number of registered users to over 500 brand managers and marketers.

Getmemedia.com, which was launched in March, offers access to a search engine of media and marketing ideas, and is free to advertisers. It advertises opportunities from a range of media owners including Sky and EMAP.

Boots media manager Chris Ladd says it will help the retailer meet its challenge of communicating with as many consumers as possible across a wide variety of media.

He says: “Getmemedia is an excellent tool that anyone within marketing should gain access to. It enables users to quickly appraise the media market and find relevant opportunities to target their chosen consumers.”

Pete Davis, founder of Getmemedia.com and a former media controller at Nestlé, says that the addition of high-profile users to the site “demonstrates the value we can add to understanding marketing options”.

Getmemedia.com has already extended its service into bespoke training with a variety of trade bodies. Get Me Insight, which is free to users of the site, was launched last month.
