Matt loves to make artics roll

Job applicants are often encouraged to include unusual hobbies and achievements on their CVs to make prospective employers sit up and take notice.

But one agency boss has added a rare talent to his own list of pastimes.

Matt Etherington, head of brand naming agency Matt Etherington Names Names, met a challenge from workmates head on when they booked him onto a five-day crash course in lorry driving.

Unfazed, Etherington passed his road test first time, on day five of the course. He says: “I’m totally hooked on driving these monsters – it’s like driving a two-bedroom bungalow.”

Etherington is, perhaps sensibly, swerving round his latest challenge – giving his teenage son driving lessons.
