McDonald’s UK marketer moves to Carphone Warehouse

MacdonaldsDominic Rowell, UK head of marketing at McDonald’s, is leaving the company to join Carphone Warehouse as UK marketing director. He takes over the role in January.

Rowell will oversee all marketing and brand development and report to group marketing director, Tristia Clarke.

His departure from the fast-food chain comes after a number of changes in the marketing department including the appointment of former BA chief marketer Jill McDonald as top marketer for Northern Europe. Laurie Morgan, vice-president of marketing, left the company earlier the summer.

Rowell joined the fast-food chain just over a year ago from Sainsbury’s, where he held a number of roles including head of advertising and head of Nectar and direct marketing.

McDonald’s is currently seeking a replacement for Rowell.
