Mega Profile strikes global network deal

UK-based banner advertising company Mega Profile has teamed up with nine companies in other countries to offer advertisers an international network of giant poster sites.

The consortium, called Mega Group and first tipped in Marketing Week, is run by Mega Profile managing director Sam Cook (MW June 20, 2002).

Mega Group claims it is the first banner company to offer advertisers the chance to run international campaigns. It has signed up sales agreements with similar companies in countries such as France, Germany, Italy and Spain. It is already offering to sell sites in Barcelona, including the cathedral, which will be covered in scaffolding while it is cleaned.

Mega Pro

file is best known for selling the world’s largest advertising site at Fort Dunlop. The company threatened to take Fort Dunlop’s landlord to court after it took the lease and gave it to Clear Channel (MW January 16). It later settled out of court and Clear Channel will take over selling the site from the start of next month.
