Emma is a visionary marketing executive with >20 years of leadership experience and an outstanding track record of driving strong sales and market share growth for the world’s top retail and FMCG brands. Her formative career was spent with Unilever, building brands such as Dove, Persil & Domestos, defining strategy & delivering double-digit growth, driving change programmes that centralised resources and strengthened brand, digital and leadership capabilities As a Global VP for Dove at Unilever, Emma drove a pioneering global communications strategy that ‘changed the way women see the armpit’ whilst creating Global Innovation Pipelines, Tech roadmaps & cultural change programmes for both established and emerging markets.

In 2016, Emma joined Tesco at the request of CEO, Dave Lewis, as part of his team to rebuild brand trust, repair food credentials and restore value perceptions amidst a significant decline in brand health. Over the course of five years, she has transformed marketing effectiveness, delivering £1.8BN impact through sales & brand growth with a forensic focus on creating award-winning Global propositions that cut through, such as Food Love stories, Clubcard prices, 100 years of great value, Aldi Price match, spearheading the customer facing work through Covid-19, reflecting the significant and rapid shift in customer behaviour.

Emma’s combination of experience and global award-winning omnichannel marketing communications provide her with a depth and breadth of expertise in growing consumer-focused businesses. She is a true catalyst of energy, who inspires diverse teams to achieve more than expected, a natural problem solver, who harnesses data to transform consumer connections to brands, and an outstanding, creative big thinker who likes nothing better than asking ‘what if? why not?’, truly believing that anything is possible

In 2021, Emma was promoted to her current role of Chief Brand, Proposition and Comms Director where she continues to sprinkle her magic. Beyond her role, Emma is working with The Marketing Society on its future vision, is a volunteer for Pilot-light currently working with the Boaz Trust, helping to end destitution for refugees in the Greater Manchester area and is a judge for Young Lions and British Arrows. Outside work Emma is an Outer Hebrides enthusiast, Charity Cyclist, rotten piano player and Intrepid ‘Wild’ Swimmer.
