Gary has been the Chief Digital and Marketing Officer at Wickes since the start of 2020. Navigating the home improvement retailer through a huge amount of change, in-part driven by the pandemic but also the decoupling of the brand from the Travis Perkins group; supporting Wickes’ demerge and float on the FTSE in 2021. With over 2/3rd’s of Wickes sales starting online, Wickes has driven digital innovation and change, firmly asserting itself as a market leading ‘digitally led, service enabled’ home improvement retailer. Before Wickes, Gary has worked at Board level within several retail organisations, most recently where he was CMO at Sainsburys Argos and before that he was Global Chief Customer Officer at Mothercare. Gary also spent ten years at the very.com (a brand he launched in 2009) and before that, ten years in various commercial roles at WHSmith.
