Becky McKinlay is the Managing Director of Alpha Grid, the Financial Times’ creative content production and storytelling studio. Becky has worked in both client-side and agency roles in advertising, communications and media industries in both client side and agency roles. Becky’s career has spanned client-side and agency roles in advertising, communications and media industries – known to run towards fires, but always with a focus on driving growth through effective business strategies and audacious creative solutions. Prior to taking up her role at Alpha Grid, Becky headed up the creative and media teams for Economist Impact; lead global client teams at WPP; founded her own marketing communications agency, Ambition London; and started her working life in client-side marketing roles. Becky is known for her approach to leadership, mentorship, and to fostering high-performance teams. This approach is also apparent in her work outside the FT Group – she is Chair of Governors at Wimbledon High School, a mentor for The 30% Club and a non executive director at Connection Crew CIC. In 2023 she won an Ad Week Future is Female Award and is currently qualifying as an Executive Coach with AOEC.
