Mitsubishi Motors appoints marketing chief

Mitsubishi Motors UK has promoted Toby Marshall to the role of director of sales and marketing.

He takes over from Lance Bradley who has been promoted to managing director.

Marshall steps up from his role as general manager and has been with Mitsubishi for 11 years in a number of marketing, product management and corporate sales positions.

Mitsubishi has also has also appointed Richard Weller to the new role of general manager for sales and dealer development. The new role merges Mitsubishi’s sales operations with its dealer development and training department.

Marshall says although the industry is in a “difficult place” and that Mitsubishi is not “immune from the challenges” he is looking forward “to getting us through this time stronger”.

Mitsubishi Motors has a 0.3% market share in the UK, and only sold 482 new cars in the first two months of the year, according to the latest figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.

In January, Mitsubishi Motors started a sponsorship of ITV’s You’ve Been Framed.
