Plumb joined the company as managing director of the financial services arm last month from research company dunnhumby, where he was managing director.

He has held a variety of marketing roles ING Direct, where he was head of advertising, e-business and promotions, Orange, where he was head of advertising and e-business, and, where was head of brand. He joined Easyjet as marketing director in 2005 before moving to the general manager UK role.

The appointments come as the company moved to reassure the City that the insurance and travel strands of its business should compensate the affects of the credit crunch on its money business. It says it should still meet analyst expectations for its full-year profit.
