Monster.co.uk strikes a first with Capital sponsorship
Online jobs company Monster.co.uk is taking up its first radio sponsorship with an exclusive partnership with 95.8 Capital FM’s breakfast show, hosted by Johnny Vaughan and Lisa Snowdon.
Capital, owned by Global Radio, announced this week that the pair will continue hosting the show for another two years.
Monster.co.uk’s package includes sponsorship and online activity focused on the theme “Kick Start Your Day and Your Career”. It also includes a competition called Celebrity Job Swap, where listeners have a chance to win £3,000 every week.
Monster.co.uk and Capital will also create a special promotion for “the most depressing day of the year” – 25 January – when listeners can win £1,000 in cash every hour from 7am to 7pm.
During their 18-month pairing, Vaughan and Snowdon have helped restore some of the breakfast show’s fortunes, lifting listener figures from 944,000 to over 1.03 million by the end of 2009, according to Rajar. When Vaughan took over Capital’s breakfast show in April 2004 it was posting listener numbers of more than 2 million. The deal was brokered by OMD UK.
