Mortgage director takes top Pru marketing post

Prudential has promoted Ali Crossley, lifetime mortgages director, to its top marketing position following the departure of Angus MacIver to Morrisons. She will be the brand’s third marketing director in less than a year.

Her previous role will be filled by Keith Haggart, who steps up from senior manager of business development for lifetime mortgages.

Crossley has been at the Pru for five years joining as marketing communications director. Previously, she worked client-side for Gillette and Booker and in consultancy for companies including Barclays, Flemings, Cater Allen and Norwich Union.

She steps up next month when MacIver leaves. He is joining supermarket Morrisons as its first board-level marketing director (MW September 6). He succeeded Alison Wright, who left the insurer following the sale of internet bank brand Egg to Citi in April (MW April 4).

Crossley says she has no immediate plans to restart an advertising review halted by MacIver following Wright’s departure. Wright called the review late last year in order to consolidate the business across brands including Prudential and Egg.

Wright, who joined the Prudential Group from advertising agency WCRS as chief marketing officer for Egg in January 2006, was promoted to head Prudential’s UK marketing department in May 2006 following the departure of Prudential UK and Europe marketing director Roger Ramsden as part of a management reshuffle.

Citi this week confirmed it would be realigning Egg’s advertising roster to reflect the global strategic alliance between Publicis Groupe and Egg, as revealed in Marketing Week (MW†May 3).
