Mountain rescue to cap their high expectations

Being merely heroic obviously isn’t enough for some people. Take the 24-strong team made up of Acxiom employees and clients tackling the Three Peaks Challenge, which saw them climbing the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales.

The data services company usually sends it staff to the Henley Royal Regatta for their summer treat, but this year decided its workers needed something a bit more gruelling.

However, raising &£20,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust wasn’t enough for these (fool)hardy souls, so they decided to double up as a mountain rescue team.

One of the teams stumbled across a cold and hungry middle-aged female, who may or may not have had one too many Kendal Mint Cakes, at 2.30am on Scafell Pike.

The woman had become separated from her husband and was only saved from her perilous predicament by the Acxiom team, which escorted her safely to the foot of the mountain, only to discover that her husband had given up on her and gone home.

After doing their bit for desperate housewives, the doubly heroic team continued with their challenge, which 20 out of the 24 mountaineers completed.
