MSN UK signs content deal with 3

MSN.co.uk, the Microsoft-owned online portal, has signed an exclusive deal with 3 to brand content on MSN Space, the portal’s blogging tool. MSN UK and 3 have teamed up to offer consumers the chance to win cash prizes for the video blogs.

As part of the deal, 3 will deliver its SeeMeTV to MSN Spaces through a jointly branded three-month promotion. Launched late last year, SeeMeTV is the UK’s first mobile television channel to show and pay for customer-created content.

Users can send short videos taken on their video phones or digital cameras to an e-mail address and the ten best clips will be posted daily on the 3-branded MSN Space where other users can vote for favourite clips and post blogs.

SeeMeTV has proved to be very popular, with over 300,000 clips and 4 million downloads since its launch.

MSN.co.uk digital marketing manager Katy Adelson says: “This new mobile blogging agreement illustrates a new medium for online advertising. We see new avenues for advertising and innovative campaigns evolving. Our aim is to produce creative campaigns that engage the consumer and encourage user interaction.” The deal continues a partnership between the two brands – 3 sponsored the MSN Messenger theme pack last year.
