Müller brings in Cadbury marketer to head up marketing

Müller Dairy has appointed Cadbury’s global brand director Lee Rolston as its new marketing director.

Rolston will join the company in the autumn. He replaces Chris McDonough who moved to Molson Coors in February.

He is the latest Cadbury marketer to leave the confectioner following its acquisition by Kraft in February.

His move comes after Marketing Week revealed that Cadbury’s marketing will remain in the UK, but Kraft officials in Europe will handle strategic decisions. UK marketing director Phil Rumbol is also leaving the company later this summer, with Dairy Milk’s marketing director Margaret Jobling sitting in on future planning meetings in the interim.

In his new role at Müller, Rolston will take over duties from marketing portfolio controller Jonathan Dee, who took over duties from McDonough as interim marketing director. He will report to Müller Dairy’s CEO, Gharry Eccles.

Eccles says: “Lee brings a wide range of experience from his employment with top major companies that represent a multitude of familiar and established brands.”

Müller Corner recently aimed to broaden its appeal with a £9m relaunch, starting with an advertising campaign for a new premium product, Greek Style Yogurt Corner. The yoghurt brand also sponsors Deal or No Deal and signed Joanna Lumley as the face of its Vitality variant.
