Nando’s launches Luis Suarez bite ad
Nando’s has wasted no time in poking fun at controversial Liverpool striker Luis Suarez for biting an opponent’s arm with a humorous online advert reassuring the footballer he will “never bite alone”.
The restaurant chain is using the striker’s latest misdemeanour, which saw him bite Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic during a match last Sunday, as the centre of its latest advert.
The advert first appeared on the brand’s Facebook page with the strapline: “Suarez, still hungry? Uvanachick?”
It goes on to read: “At Nando’s, there’s enough Peri-Peri flame-grilled chickens to go around for everyone. Basted in your choice of flavour. Rest assured, Suarez, you’ll never bite alone.”
Nando’s advert comes just days after Suarez was warned by sponsor Adidas after he admitted to biting Ivanovic. The striker has issued a formal apology for his “unacceptable behaviour” and has been fined an undisclosed sum by Liverpool.
