Napster takes on jaron.DIRECT to handle Euro account

Napster, the online music download company, has appointed jaron.DIRECT to handle its European direct marketing account, in a bid to recruit new subscribers and strengthen brand awareness. Jaron.DIRECT will be responsible for all of its digital communications in Britain and Germany.
The Germany-based agency won the seven-figure account following an international pitch against a number of undisclosed agencies.
The agency has been handed a brief to maintain Napster’s brand recognition value and reinforce it in international markets. It will also manage campaign planning, creation, implementation and performance control measures.
In May, Napster teamed up with Motorola to promote its music content on the mobile phone manufacturer’s handsets with the offer of one month’s free access to the Napster Go mobile service.
