Natalie Portman signs as face of Parfums Christian Dior in endorsement U-turn

Actress Natalie Portman is to be the new face of Parfums Christian Dior, despite saying last year that a cosmetics campaign was not something she would do.

In an interview last year Portman said: “I don’t have a problem with making money, but I don’t believe in doing something you don’t believe in to make money – like a makeup campaign or something like that.”

It is the first time Portman has agreed to do an endorsement deal with a fragrance or cosmetics company.

Portman is the latest face of the LVMH Group-owned fragrance brand and follows in the footsteps of Charlize Theron, Monica Bellucci and Sharon Stone.

Jude Law has been the face of the company’s male fragrance lines

Parfums Christian Dior CEO Claude Martinez says Portman will “symbolise with grace the values of luxury and the glamour of Dior”.

I met with Nectar card managing director Jan Pieter Lips last week who told me: “direct marketing and CRM are becoming the tools of the future in many business,” and I’m inclined to agree.
