National qualification body appoints director of business development

NCFE, the national qualifications body, has appointed Julie Armstrong as its new director of business development.

Armstrong, who has 20 years’ experience in marketing and sales in the public and private sectors, was previously a marketing director in the further education, training and skills sector.

Armstrong will lead NCFE’s marketing, national business development, research and product development functions. Its qualifications include diplomas, NVQs and apprenticeships.

She says: “NCFE has an excellent reputation for creating opportunities that develop people’s skills and broaden their education, which in turn enriches society.”

“Some of our key strategic aims will be to build upon our market positioning as a first-choice provider of innovative and high-quality educational qualifications, to increase market share and achieve growth in key and targeted new market sectors.”

Armstrong was granted a marketing scholarship with the JL Kellogg School of Marketing, at Ivory League Northwestern University, Chicago, and is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
