Neff brand owner BSH appoints top marketer

White goods and home appliance company BSH Group has appointed Ekkehard Rabold to its top marketing position.

Rabold was previously sales and marketing manager for BSH’s Neff brand and some of its specialist brands at the company’s Munich head office. He replaces Michael Marsolleck, who left BSH last year.

Rabold, who has been with the group for 12 years, has already taken up his role as group marketing manager and will oversee the development of the company’s portfolio of brands, which includes Siemens and Bosch. Individual brand marketing managers will report to Rabold.

Bosch, Siemens and Neff are positioned at the high end of the white goods market. Neff recently signed a deal to sponsor the Signature Chef strand on the UK Food channel, which includes shows such as Nigel Slater’s Real Food and The Naked Chef.

BSH Group is the UK’s leading supplier of dishwashers, accounting for 30 per cent of units sold in 2002. A majority of those sales are accounted for by Bosch. Bosch is also gaining share in the washing machine market, increasing its sales from 240,000 units in 2000 to 258,000 in 2002 (Mintel).
