Nestle expected to see 4% sales growth
Nestlé, owner of brands including Nescafé, Kit Kat and Buxton, is expected to report first half organic sales growth of around 4% on Wednesday (August 12) according to analysts.
The interim report is also expected to reveal pre-tax profits of £3.93bn (7.08bn CHF) for the period.
While it is seeing some slowing sales, particularly in bottled water, analysts say the food and drink company is likely to forecast sales growth of at least 5% for the full year.
Earlier this year Nestle reported organic sales growth of 3.8% during the first quarter.
This month it announced that it would be putting an extra £2m behind a media campaign for its new confectionary brand Rowntree’s Randoms
The investment brings the total marketing spend to £6m. The fruit flavoured jelly sweets launched in May under the banner ‘No two bags are the same.’
Nestle’s other brands include Aero, Nestle Heaven, Quality Streets, Rowntree Fruit Pastilles, Smarties, Go Cat, Purina, Ski yoghurt and Vittel mineral water.
Rival confectionary-maker Cadbury has just reported an 11% jump in pre-tax profits for the first half of the year to £262 million.
