New Balance managing director Alistair Cameron (pictured) is leaving the sportswear brand after seven years. It is not thought that he has a job to go to.
It is understood that he is looking to pursue interests outside of the industry. It is not known if New Balance has appointed a replacement.
Cameron has been responsible for developing and marketing the brand across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In 2004, he spearheaded a repositioning of New Balance as a lifestyle brand as well as performance footwear company. He doubled the brand’s marketing spend to £2m to support the changes (MW July 8, 2004).
Cameron says: “The last three years have seen sales increase in excess of 60%, a remarkable trend and one which establishes a strong durable platform for sustainable growth.”
