New campaign – Orange

Orange is launching a new Gold Spot cinema campaign this week featuring Batman Forever actor Val Kilmer.

The campaign, which has been created by Mother and breaks on August 3, sees Gold Spot regulars Mr Dresden and his sidekick Elliot interrupting the filming of a Western starring Kilmer.

They ruin Kilmer’s “ode to the Wild West” and he the pair eventually manage to get him talking reluctantly about the benefits of “e-mails with picture attachments”.

Previous Gold Spot stars have included Patrick Swayze and Ewan McGregor and Orange’s head of advertising and design Rachel Macbeth says: “Cinema-goers love finding out who their next victim is because it is great to see celebrities sending themselves up with the Orange film board.” Orange has held the rights to the 65-second slot – or “Gold Spot” – before films begins in cinemas since 2000.
