Next airs first national TV ad

Next, the high street retailer, is airing its first national television advertising this week. The ad is the first in a series that follows the growing relationship between a party organiser and her client and is intended to have the same impact as the iconic Gold Blend ads featuring Sharon and Tony.

The ad is entitled Ale’s Party and features South American supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio (pictured) as a young women starting a career in media and organising an event for her client Paul Sculfor, the male model.

The first execution will air during Friday’s Emmerdale ad break on ITV and be followed up with a Christmas ad after their first date in Edinburgh.

The ad has been created in-house with media planning and buying by Mediaedge:cia. Chief executive Simon Wolfson came up with the concept after watching the film The Devil Wears Prada.

The ads show Ale going through a range of outfits throughout the day including outdoor wear, home wear and evening wear as she sets up the party, to the KT Tunstall track “Suddenly I see”. The ad also features 100 extras, all employed by the home shopping and high street retailer.
