Nike builds UK marketing team

Nike has strengthened its UK marketing team with the appointment of Levi Strauss marketer Melanie Lowe as head of marketing for London. Lowe has been brought in to help lead an increased focus on marketing in the UK, particularly around the US sports brand’s flagship London store.

Lowe, who was marketing manager at Levis, will report to UK marketing director Simon Pestridge. Nike has also appointed Alex Pellew, a former account director at TBWA/London, as London brand manager for football and running and is looking for a London brand manager for women’s and sport culture. Pellew and the other new recruit will also report to Pestridge.

Last week, Nike rolled out its latest ad featuring Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney. The viral sees the footballer demonstrate his ball skills while sporting the Nike Total90 Laser boot at Nike US headquarters in Oregon.
