Ocado launches food shopping iPhone app

Ocado has launched an iPhone app for food shopping on the go.

The app, which is also available on the iPod Touch, gives users access to the grocery etailer’s entire range of products.

The product list is stored on the iPhone, allowing consumers to shop offline, with orders automatically updated when an internet connection is made.

Jason Gissing, founder of Ocado, said the retailer is keen on pioneering online grocery shopping.

“We’re delighted to be the first UK supermarket on the iPhone. This is grocery shopping 2.0 and it’ll offer a huge benefit to many of our busy customers,” he said.

The service is already available but officially launches on 13 July following final testing.
