Octopus Travel doubles bookings

Octopus Travel has achieved a 100 per cent increase in hotel bookings made via its web site following the implementation of a new system.

Sapient Interactive developed a new, scalable IT infrastructure that has allowed the travel company to triple its range of hotels offered.

Enhanced customer service has also been built in, including better search performance and merchandising, resulting in shorter booking processes. The “look-to-book” conversion rate seen by Octopus Travel has also doubled. Gareth Gaston, managing director of Octopus Travel says: “The new platform makes it simple for customers to make hotel bookings and is far more user-friendly than the previous system. It is much more scalable, making it easier for us to expand our product range and target new markets as our business grows.”
