OMD Connect has pulled out of AXA’s £12m pitch, leaving Carat, Media Planning Group and MindShare to fight it out for the account. The shortlist will be reduced further next week following agency presentations to the insurance company.
It is understood that OMD’s relationship with AXA in Europe will be not be affected, however it sees OMD Connect lose its only client. It is not known whether OMD Connect will close or look for other financial accounts.
The agency is a partnership between Omnicom group companies OMD and WWAV Rapp Collins Media and was set up in 1999.
