Palmer nets global Cadbury role…

Cadbury marketing director Alan Palmer has been promoted to a new international role within Cadbury Schweppes.

Palmer, who has been the confectionery giant’s marketing director for the past four years, will become international marketing director for Cadbury Schweppes’ confectionery businesses worldwide.

Part of his newly-created role will be to oversee the international development of the Cadbury “masterbrand” and “power brands”, such as Trebor and Bassett.

It is not yet known who will replace Palmer.

Last year, Palmer oversaw one of the most successful confectionery launches with Fuse. Fuse became the UK’s favourite confectionery item in its first four weeks, accounting for 6.5 per cent of all countline sales.

Palmer was previously marketing director at Trebor Bassett and has worked for Cadbury Schweppes.
